Thomas Lombardi
On August 15, 1989, after suffering a seizure, Thomas Lombardi of Rhode Island was diagnosed with a stage 3 Meningioma (brain tumor). He had a craniotomy on August 17, 1989; however, one week following the surgery he had another seizure, indicating a recurrence of the tumor, and then had a second surgery. Following that, he went to see a Neurosurgeon in Boston, Mass., who performed two more surgeries on him.
After his fourth surgery, Tom went to see a Neuroncologist at Dana Farber. The Neurocologist didn’t know how to treat him. In 1990, Tom’s best friend had read an article entitled “How I Beat Brain Cancer,” an article in which Dr. Burzynski was the doctor who cured the author. Tom soon traveled to Houston to meet Dr. Burzynski, and was immediately impressed with him. By the time he arrived in Houston, Tom had already had seven brain surgeries, and had undergone one round of radiation treatment. So far, none of these procedures had rid him of the cancer.
After about one year on Dr. Burzynski’s treatment, Tom’s MRIs were clean. He was on the capsule form of the medicine for a couple of months. Tom has been off Dr. Burzynski’s treatment and clean of cancer for ten years now.
