My name is Elizabeth Mora and I was diagnosed with Grade III Anaplastic Astrocytoma on May 14th, 2009. In the middle of the night, on May 4th, 2009, I had a seizure, and my husband rushed me to the emergency room. On May 6th, 2009, I underwent brain surgery in which 100% of my tumor was removed. I began radiation at MD Anderson in June 2009 for 6 weeks. In December 2009, the tumor had returned and it was now in three different places on the left side of my brain. The plan at MD Anderson was 1 year of chemotherapy and I was placed on oral chemotherapy. It was during this time, that a co-worker mentioned Dr. Burzynksi's treatment. My husband, twin sister and I researched and we found ourselves at the Burzynski clinic in mid-January 2010. Against many warnings from my family and friends about beginning treatment at Dr. Burzynski's clinic, I went forward with his treatment. I felt guided by the Lord to begin Dr. Burzynski's treatment the day that I met with him in mid-January 2010.
I began treatment in late Janurary 2010. I was not allowed to pursue the antineoplaston treatment, due to FDA regulations, as I had already began chemotherapy at MD Anderson. I began a very specific treatment, the targeted gene therapy, based on my genes that were oncogenes. I received both treatment through IV and orally. On February 26, 2010, the review of the MRI revealed that the tumors were completely gone. It was a true miracle from God! My husband, twin sister, and I were in complete disbelief! This miracle did not register until we saw our son later that day after the appointment – that through Dr. Burzynski's treatment, God had healed me, and I would be able to see my little boy grow up! It was a feeling that I will relive for the rest of my life! I am so grateful to have a second chance at life- to tell others about God's love and to share my testimony about my experience at Dr. Burzynski's clinic.
I always felt cared for at the clinic as the doctors and staff were always welcoming. After a couple of months of IV treatment in 2010, I continued the targeted gene therapy with oral treatment. In the spring of 2012, my genes no longer showed the need for treatment. Today, I no longer receive treatment from Dr. Burzynski, praise the Lord! I continue to be healthy and live a wonderful life! I am a speech pathologist working in a school district, and have continued working throughout my journey. I am a wife and a mother to a 5-year-old son. I am grateful for Dr. Burzynski and his staff for taking care of me at such a difficult point in my life. I thank him and the staff for their committed work to the treatment of cancer. I am in awe at what the Lord has done, and I will continue to tell others about my journey; a journey in which Dr. Burzynski and his staff were a big part of it! Thank you so much for your commitment to your patients!
